    Damn this is good stuff. Earthier than previous bottles, verging on barnyard, but delicious and mixed with a bright cherry profile. Funkiness toned down some with air, revealing (once again) an awesomely good OR pinot for well under $20.

Come on Steve, you know 07s aren’t any good. Which sucks cause UPS has been delivering a bunch of that crap to me.

loved this wine . . . only bought 3 . . . they are all gone . . . should have bought a case . . . .

So far we’ve managed to polish off half of our case of this “undrinkable” wine.

Tonight’s bottle.

Cameroni funk followed by intriguing spice and citrus notes with a mineral edged red fruit and black cherry attack. An acidophile’s festival sets the stage for an energetic midpalate. Deceptively good intensity considering its lighter weight. Agile, engaging and barnyard-free. Drinkable squared.[cheers.gif]

Richard’s notes are spot-on and make me wonder if I mis-used the term “barnyard” in my original posting notes… I realize in retrospect that that’s the common descriptor for bretty wines, and the taste I’m experiencing in this wine may be better described by Richard as “Cameroni funk” - in any case, it’s an altogether good thing.

Steve, good indeed.

The characteristic reductive funk can certainly be off-putting. I’ve participated in some BB threads related to Cameron and brett. My experience with several Pinot bottlings between 2003 and 2007 has revealed a grand total of none. The Clos Electrique is reportedly the most likely “bad boy”. Since it’s something I’m specifically looking for, your reference to “barnyard” piqued my interest.
