TN: 2007 Cameron Pinot Noir Dundee Hills (USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills)

  • 2007 Cameron Pinot Noir Dundee Hills - USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Dundee Hills (6/9/2009)
If this is any indication, 2007 will be a good year for Cameron. Lighter than the 2005 (I skip the hot years), clear rose all the way to the rim. Nose is floral, with fruit tree blossoms, a hint of lavender and just a bit of the Cameron funk. Acidity is way lively now, almost spritzy, so there still some time for settling in here. Right now, flavor’s not quite as interesting as the nose, and the finish is a bit short, but there’s nothing to complain about. If you like the Cameron style, go long on this one. (91 pts.)

Thanks for the note, James. Big Cameron fans here! We’ve popped a couple of the '07 WV, but we haven’t tried the Dundee Hills yet. I’m looking forward to it.

If it’s funky it must have a good dose of Clos Electrique fruit in it. The last couple of times I tried the CE it was damn near undrinkable it was so funky, and I like me some funk. Jeez . . . I sound like Roberto. [dance2.gif]

I thought the Dundee Hills was a big step up from the WV. It’s definitely worth seeking out (as Kramer would say).
