TN 2007 Caiarossa Toscana

2007 Caiarossa, Toscana IGT
Behaving more like Napa Cab than a supertuscan, this struts silky cassis, vanillin, sweet dill, milk duds, dried cherries, baking spice and blackberry coulee coming together in a youthful but integrated wine that still has a bit of structure. At 14.5 it doesn’t come across as hot, but this full bodied wine does have some kick in the flavor department- yet everything is in the right place and it’s not over done. It’s rich and luscious, but nowhere near approaching over the top. While it doesn’t shy away from ripeness, it has a freshness and delineation that screams ‘Yummm!’ The finish has good length but isn’t intense, and not drowned out by the heat you might expect from the alc. This should be even better from 2018-2025 as it picks up some additional nuance, but it’s already layered and a killer now.

Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Merlot, Cab S, Petit Verdot, Alicante, Syrah

93 PTS is more objective, but has a 95 point yuminess to it…
