2006 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Peay Vineyard - (Sonoma Coast)
Popped and poured. Nice ruby color; has a beautiful floral nose with blackberries and some spice. I really like the bouquet on this wine.
Wonderful black berries and sour raspberries flavors; turns spicy on the finish. Has a bit of heat and acidity. Is that pink grapefruit I taste?
Need to revisit this after it sits for a while.
If memory serves, Tanzer gave this a 93. He liked it a it more than I did right now; I’ll throw an 89 at it. May turn higher as it has time to breathe in the summer air.
If memory serves again (and for me, it often does), Eric Asimov had a nice article a few years back on Peay Vineyard and making wine on the Sonoma Coast.
