TN: 2006 Villa Creek "Garnacha", Paso Robles

This Board does allow TNs, right?

From the exceedingly excellent Denner Vineyard. 15.9% alcohol. 100% Grenache.

I love this. I had one bottle, and wish it was two cases.

Medium to dark ruby red. Sexy, expressive, appealing aromas of cherries and spice (a blast actually) An initial palate expression of red fruit and spice. An incredible secondary hit of tropical fruits. Lingering aftertaste. Simply delicious.

This is an exceptionally distinctive wine made by Cris and Jo Anne Cherry. There was another thread on another Board discussing top Grenaches. This is sensational.

By the way who are the adults minding this site? Bob Wood and some guy named Jorge? Where is Leve? :?

Saw this on sale (not on sale enought for me…) at Binny’s in IL this week

Pick up a bottle Mel, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

You really nailed this one Mike, It’s a big ripe wine that’s not always my style but is consistently good year in year out.

mike, i concur.

Grenache Tasting (Brentwood, CA): An excellent Grenache from a terrific vineyard. Notes of black raspberries, pomegranate, wet soil, crushed minerals, and java chip. Full and rich on the palate with a nice long finish. (91 pts.)

absolutely agree with you, Mike. Villa Creek makes some awesome wines, and this one is always one of my favorites of theirs. [cheers.gif]

Brian, right now the 06 Garnacha is my “Wine of '09.” Is is amazing how delectable Grenache can be when it’s done right. This was a Wow wine.

Love those Villa Creeks, especially avenger and Garnacha
