Super silky and lush with great structure. Finely gritty and lightly chalky tannins that already are nicely integrated. The fruit is both dark and bright with light mocha notes to the black cherry hued fruit. This is an absolutely stellar wine that is open for business now. I agree with your note very good wine, I have two more left, but I passed on the 07 because for the price tag, the it would have had to blow my mind and promise it would get better. Neither happened.
Bright AND dark fruit at the same time is the closest thing I can say is the ToKalon profile. I don’t know how it does that, but all the good ones from there seem to have that characteristic.
tried the 08 for this which was pretty damn stunning as well. So dark, deep, and rich
