2006 Terry Hoage Vineyards Grenache Skins - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (10/27/2009)
Decanted 2 hours, rebottled, brought to dinner and enjoyed over 2 hours. Very interesting nose of dust and baking spices. This wine shows wonderful balance of fruit, spice and acidity. Medium bodied, long finish. A year ago I said I’d wait 2 years to enjoy another bottle, but now it seems to be entering its drinking window with a 2 hour decant. As with all of Terry’s wines that I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy, the level of acidity in these wines is astonishing. In my view, these wines are among the most food friendly wines made in California.
