TN: 2006 Tablas Creek - "Bergeron" Roussanne (Paso Robles)

4/25/2009
– cracked and poured –
– tasted non-blind over a couple hours –
– 100% Roussanne –

NOSE: light honeysuckle and musk melon notes on the tight bouqet; smells like the outside of an underripe pineapple; simple.

BODY: tan-yellow color of medium depth; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: mostly lime and minerals; nice acidity; the 13.5% alc. is well-hidden; hint of underipe papaya, as well as a dash of oak; a bit watery, but it does have a long-ish finish (40-45 sec.); simple; drink now.

B: 50, 5, 10, 16, 6 = 87

Brian - thanks for the note. That’s about what I got out of the wine too!

It’s picked early to make a crisp wine that pairs with oysters and other seafood. I like the wine, as you indicated it’s a quaffer rather than a wow type of wine.
