TN: 2006 Sottimano Barbaresco "Cotta"

This surprised me a little in that it seemed more “old school” than recent 2004 Sottimanos. The wine is relatively pale with almost tawny hues. Lots of balsamic notes on the nose, beef stock and herbs. The palate is quite round, generous and quite approachable, with just a touch of strictness on the back end confirming its origins. This seems to be a vintage that will come around relatively quickly.
