TN: 2006 Small Vines Wines Pinot Noir (USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley)

Possibly my top new winery find of 2009. These are excellent wines worth a look.

14.3% alcohol. Pretty red color. Excellent aromatics, with great black cherry and baking spice character. In the mouth, juicy and delicious, with pure fruit and bright acidity. A very fine example of 2006 Pinot Noir. Notable producer. A-

2005 was better and the 07 tops 'em both. also made a MK Vineyard (true Sonoma coast) in 2007 that really rocks hard though the price is $65/btl from the winery.

Sloans are very lovely people too.

I was late on the boat for the 2005, which was a shame … but the 2007s definitely are rocking, both the RRV and MK. I like what Paul is doing. Very pure wines.

you get out to Cali i got 2 bottles of the 2005 RRV left. in a great spot when last imbibed fall 09.

Merci!

Thank you so much for the rave reviews and the support! I appreciate posting the link as well because we have been completely sold out of the 2006’s, but it looks like there is still some out there. We Just finished bottling the 2008s about 2 weeks ago, so far, so good! Make sure to give us a call if you are out this way. We love to give vineyard tours…bring your boots!
