This is the first ‘young’ Lytton Springs I’ve opened in ages. Did a double decant & left for 10 minutes before drinking… sorry tasting. Big & bold on the nose with warm tar, rich plum/loganberry & a dried flower element with a touch of heat. The palate wasn’t as massive as I was expecting but it is velvety smooth (should it be?) with sweetness & peppery spice and a modicum of complexity. Not too heavy or tannic on the finish but it is slightly let down with a bit of flabbiness. Not great value at £21/US$33 but glad to have tried it. Looking forward to going back to the marvelous 1999’s. 14.5%vol. 88pts
