Nose is restrained, but some red fruits and chalk do come through, with a bit of black pepper. The palate seems at this young stage to be a bit primary and disjointed, but the components are all there. The right amount of sweetness to the black and red fruits, the bits of black pepper and grilled meats we expect to find in Syrah, and a good length to the finish. I opened this bottle to see what I might expect when the order form shows up, and I like what I have found. (89 pts.)
