2006 Pierre Damoy Chambertin- France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin Grand Cru (3/21/2012)
P&P at my locker to share. Didn’t know what to expect, but surprisingly open for business. Fairly dark in color and still relatively primary, but showing nicely. Dark red fruit, earthy, balanced, with nice acidic backbone. This is very good now, but should be fantastic with some age on it. One of the better Burgs I’ve had recently. Went in on a mixed case along with the CdB with Fu and glad I have more sleeping.
Rustic is a good descriptor. Damoy seems a bit under the radar, in fact, Fu turned me onto this producer and I’m glad he did. Just a great Chambertin and a good “value” for a Chambertin if you can find it under $130.
