TN: 2006 Pavillon de Poyferré (France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Julien)

I found this in 375ml at Topline Wine in Glendale. It’s gaining a little depth as it opens up. A nice drink for $16.99.

From half bottle. Clear, deep ruby color. Clean aromas, medium intensity. Primary notes of redcurrant and violet, with subtle secondary black tea spice and cedar. Dry on the palate, medium acid and medium tannins. Similar redcurrant, floral and tea notes with hints of further spice. Focused, mellow flavors. Not very complex, but enjoyable, and with character. Silky tannins. Short to medium finish. Nice, and easy drinking. (89 pts.)
