Okay all, here it is…this is an unbelievable wine for $20…terrific. Decanted for about one hour and enjoyed with Charlie Trotter’s salmon with mushroom and grits recipe. Nose of dark cherries, pine and a little underbrush and a little orange blossom and earth. The palate shows more dark cherries, cranberry, smoke and a little hint of milk chocolate and coffee on the finish. Good acidity, silky texture it very much reminds me of a good recent vintage Williams Seylem Pinot…

I would decant this for an hour or two before consuming b/c when I popped it I didn’t get much on the nose or palate…if you bought these you will be VERY HAPPY! (92 pts.)

Drank with a few people at WHF.

I thought the finish had a lot of vegetation, not forest floor or earth, just that kind of heavy vegetation. Pop and pour though. Thought it had that really bright NZ style fruit on the palate. Really short finish, maybe it needs time, Rick finished the other half of the bottle a few hours later and said it got better.

Wow…we didn’t get any vegetation at all and ours the finish was not short. Not real long but a very nice finish. It really needs to be decanted about an hour to an hour and a half.

When I popped it I didn’t get much nose or palate although i could tell there was some good underlying material so we through it in the decanter and waited. Traci is very sensitive to vegetal characteristics and noted none.

Different strokes though

Bottle Variation? Cause I’m fine with vegetation but it was at a point where you gag from that nastiness. I’ll try one again in a few weeks.

Thanks for the notes. I’m still waiting for my six pack. Sounds like they could use some time in the cellar.
