Montepeloso Eneo 2006:
I have been a big fan of these guys for a few years. The '04s were very good and I drank a lot of Eneo (only a few bottles of Nardo!) last year. After reading Antonio’s report I decided to find a few of these to see how the '06s compared. Needless to say '06 is a fascinating vintage. Powerful and rich, dense and brooding, this wine came out fighting. Packed with dark cherries and black plums, minerals and earthiness, and a finish that lingers with hints of toasty oak, chocolate and prune. This is an excellent wine that is nowhere near ready but excellent to play around with anyway. Can’t wait to try it again in five more years. 91 points
I think this might last a long, long time.
Sounds fairly similar. Thanks for the post.
