2006 Maybach Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Materium - USA, California, Napa Valley, Oakville (12/12/2009)
Tight upon opening. 1 hour of air and a 4 hour decant was perfect. Powerful wine with a huge nose of rich dark fruit that leads to black fruit with a mix of mineral and charcoal. This is a powerful wine that is framed with silky tannins and acidity to provide surprising balance considering it’s size and depth. The finish is outstanding and lasts for over a minute. A wonderful first Maybach. (95 pts.)
