Best cabernet I have enjoyed this year. raspberry liquor with perfectly integrated tannins, smooth and velvety feel, and a beautiful, elegant structure. Seamless. (95 pts.)

Best cabernet I have tasted this year.

Enjoyed at eleven madison park with bouillabaisse, spaetzel and rabbit (awesome dish), poached lobster, and beef tenderloin with marrow crust. Delicious.

Scott

Was the wine decanted Scott. I have been thinking of popping one soon.

Opened at the restaurant, placed in the decanter and really developed after one hour.
Drunk over 2 1/2 hours.
I think a 1-2 hour decant should be fine.

Great note, Scott. Thanks.

I have successfully resisted these so far, but I am tempted as well. Notes like this one really put my will power (or lack thereof) to the test.

I only have one or i would throw it into the big napa cab smackdown im going to tomorrow night. i’d rather have it sleep for a while before I liberate it. Thanks for the note!

I slow ox’ed one of these for 12 hours back in the early summer and was equally amazed. Got a pretty good dose of cocoa too, which worked well with a rich chocolate dessert.

After the new year when things settle down for you a bit, let’s crack one of mine to satisfy my curiosity and help protect your lone bottle. Then we can chime in on this thread with actual tasting notes.

For me, tomorrow is going to be a steady stream of mature Alsatian whites and red Bordeaux.

I wish I had more '06’s to pop one now to give a whirl. Unfortunately, I went deep on the '05’s, and only went 3 deep on the '06’s. Damn it all! -mJ

Come to S.I.
I might have one or two I can open. [wink.gif]
