2006 Maisciarelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo
This was up a dollar or two since the last few vintages. Around $10 Ohio now. Disappointing in that it was not quite as good and given the economy and wine sales. That said, still an good QPR and one of my standard recs for non-geeks. Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is dusty with some plums and raspberries. A bit more acidic and less tannic than prior years. Still an easy quaff. Raspberries and cranberries. Simple. 50+4+11+15+5=85

Loren - the winemaker died suddenly in the past year (family in import business in greater Boston) so that might explain drop-off. Have always enjoyed the Marina Cvetic.
