slightly cloudy and ruby red in color, my first martinelli and honestly i was expecting it to appear darker.
as soon as the cork popped the aromas started filling up my room. candied cherries, fresh picked strawberries, roses, and a touch of spice.
tons of up front sweet ripe cherry and strawberry flavors on the palate and about halfway through the spice really picks up and carries on through the finish. hints of green pepper on the finish
maybe a touch sweet and candied for my palate, but we will see if a little decanter time fleshes this out
could use a little more acidity. i like the oak, just enough there but in no way overpowering.
half hour later, sweetness has come down on the front of the palate. still a big spicy finish.
overall, very good but not really my style, needs more acid to be in balance for my palate.
