2006 Lynmar Pinot Noir Zephyr Farms - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (5/21/2009)
Traci opened this for one glass of wine on Wednesday, recorked and placed in the refrigerator. I opened and poured to have a glass while watching the Lakers lose a 14 point lead and ultimately game 2 of the West Conf Championships…I digress and return to the wine.
Gotta say, disappointing. Decent red cherry/cranberry flavors, some wood spice, a little earthiness but ultimately light bodied with no real palate presence, not much complexity and just seemed a little bit made. Almost tasted just like decent red wine as opposed to Pinot Noir. A second glass added no real weight and left with the same impression. We really like Lynmar but were both disappointed by this effort. (85 pts.)
