I picked this up on a WinesTillSoldOut.com email for about $20 apiece for a few bottles. The first bottle was opened at a picnic and seemed to be flawed, so I discounted it and figured ah well, crap happens.
Well, bottle #2 opened tonight and it’s the same damned thing: uber-ripe, fat lemon and golden apple notes with some toasty oak, but an enormous, and rather disconcerting, amount of sugar and sweetness. This is ridiculously flabby and thick, almost syrupy. Definitely not Chablis. Where’s the acidity, the seashells, the minerality???
WTF???
