TN: 2006 Loring Wine Company Pinot Noir Naylor Dry Hole Vine

This seems to have picked up some weight and intensity as it ages. Nice sweet black cherry, black pepper, flowers and a little funk on the nose. Nioce sweet spicy black cherry fruit on the palate with enought acidity to really pair well with grilled chicken in a spicy peanut sauce. Time seems to be really bringing the 06 Lorings into a good place.

Jud, thanks for the note. I had one of these on release and thought it was really nice. I can’t wait for some of the 2007s to mature

Let Loring wines “mature”? Surely you have him confused with another winemaker. Brian’s wines always seem ready to go out of the gate to me and that’s how he makes them.

Normally I’d agree… but some of the 2006s have really benefitted from a year and a half in bottle. Same with almost all of the 2005s. In fact, I’d say that all of the 2005s, 2006s, and 2007s are peaking right now (as per my palate). One exception is the 2007 Shea… that needs 3 years at least. And… OK… some of the 2007s are a bit tight (Garys’, Brosseau, Dry Hole) and still have some upside when it comes to aging.

by mature…I’m not talking yrs upon yrs Mr. Damp Pebble!

Thanks for the info Brian.

Weeks upon weeks fur ball?

Thanks for the note. I like this bottling and thought I had drank one of my bottles … but no note … so my inventory may be off … once again. So far I have liked this vineyard and in my mind, I think of at as a fairly structured LWC.
