Decanted for quite a few hours, the nose comes across with bright red fruit, mostly raspberries, spiced, and a slight candied note (think the shell on a candy apple). Good color, I also like when I can see through a glass of Pinot. On the palate, its light to medium bodied and fruit forward with red berries riding it out, sharp tannins hit the mid palate through the finish, which still has good fruit and a green strawberry leaf component though a bit short. There’s a touch of damp earth, mocha and cocao along the way. Still a bit tight, however the alcohol is held in check and I think its a solid wine, very enjoyable. I managed to catch this on the cheap clearing out of a LWS that’s prepping for the highly anticipated '07s. For me, a solid 89, it really opened up nice.
