2006 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (11/10/2013)
I don’t drink much CdP these days, but decided to check in on this bottle. Glad I did.
Not as much herb as the last bottle, but a really pure plum note on the nose and palate. Still no evident heat. Lots of big tannins.
This should go for some time yet. Delicious.

Got this bottle from Berserker Warren Taranow, so figured I’d post.
I’m drinking mostly OR/burg/N Rhone these days, so it’s nice to know that a CdP can still deliver. I remain surprised that this is a Cambie wine. It’s a bit rustic and not at all over the top. Recommended for folks who used to love but have now sworn off southern Rhone wines. Thanks, Warren!
