TN: 2006 Ladera Cabernet

Had this at one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego; Cucina Urbana has ultra delicious food and it is an extremely wine friendly restaurant. They sell the wines at or near retail prices and then they charge a $7 corkage fee, except on Sundays when they don’t charge the corkage fee. So there you have the Ladera for only $38!!!

The wine fits my palate perfectly, lots of dark fruit, bittterseet chocolate, nice on the palate with nice long finish. I was impressed.

I am attaching the wine list for recommendations. I have also had the Alban Viognier, and the Ramey Claret from their list. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

recently had an '07 at a local restaurant and it was really tasty considering the price.

+1 on the ladera.

try the Loring Pinot. Am a fan. [cheers.gif]

Arthur, Loring is one of my favorite Pinots and I buy them at SD Wine Co, so no need to get them there. But I have to commend you on your obviously fine palate! [highfive.gif]

hopefully Brian is reading and will have a nice offer for Berserker Day!

Otto, nothing really jumped out at me, the '08 La Follette Pinot just got an 88 pt score from BH, but with a drinking window of 2014+ !!!

It does mention they have a “Reserve List”, I’d be tempted to ask for it.
