TN: 2006 Katherine Hall Cabernet, Sacrashe Vineyard

I will taste it tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me know. I can now sleep well tonight knowing that.

Indeed, keep me posted

In all seriousness, I’m a fan of their 06 stuff(Kathryn Hall & Jack’s Masterpiece)…their lower end 06 stuff is pretty cheap and decent for daily drinkers(they’ll have ridiculously cheap deals for club members).

While you are at it, report back to us how the proper way to pronounce Sacrashe is.

sack-rash? might wanna get that checked out…

Actually… Sah-krah-shay. Or at least thats how I hear it pronounced round here.

was only making a joke…admittedly a pretty bad and low brow one

I had this on New Years eve. HUGE let down and completely outclassed by it’s competition. I am curious to see how it fares on its own and even though i disliked it, I’m tempted to buy another just to see if I miscalled it.

I’m curious to see your note!

Found my note

2006 Hall Katherine Hall - Maybe this suffered from being after the Seven Stones, but…this kinda sucked. 96 from Spectator, yeah right. Floral and cherry nose with some mocha and slight tannin. it is drinking well now because it is so soft. Short finish. Good wine, but not anywhere near the league of most of the other wines. $70 is way too much and 96 points is a joke…FOR MY PALATE. I was very dissapointed by this as I like Sacrache vineyard and that’s why i bought it. I’m glad i didn’t save this for a few years thinking it was something special.

I am generally a fan of sacrache (I pronounce it Sac-Ra-Shay) and this bottle just didn;t do it for me. Again it could have been the company it was with. Please post your notes!

[rofl.gif] I totally missed that.

Decanted the wine through a Vintouri and left in the decanter for 1.5 hours. Poured at my local Italian. Not at all what I expected from a Sacrache vineyard. It is way tight with blackberries and mocha. It has some spice to it, but it is rather tight. What bothers me the most is that it tastes a bit like cherry liqueur, and I don’t really care for that. It may be a bit oxidized???

Anyway, not worth $65. And the more I sip, the less I like.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought that!
