The colour is showing some development. On the nose not as elemental as i was expecting, with some signs of age, some meaty, earthy notes mixing it with darker fruits. It is round and generous on the palate, quite dense with soft, melting tannins. Really drinking quite well, quite a big style of Burg, but not displaying the longest of finishes.

Kent I bought a 6 pack of the 06 CSJ amongst others, and they have always been ok but never much more then that, the tannins always had a grainy edge with no silk or flow,
they have been hard wines to make friends with, I think/hope I am through them now MT
Michael, the tannins were in check, but I often find Jadot reds are carried by their tannins. I was on balance disappointed by the 06 having had very good experiences with the '01 and '02. I was going to crack an '05 but only have one left of those, so better to wait.
I’ve got a magnum of '05 but I think it’s probably wise to let it sit for another five years, if not more.
Interestingly and frustratingly I popped a 2012 Louis Jadot Cote de Nuits Le Vaucrin last night that was absolutely singing. Bright and crunchy red fruits, real energy and a slippery integrated palate despite its youth. A better drink at this stage than the '06 CSJ at perhaps 20% of the price.
My thoughts exactly on the 6-pack of 2001 that I bought - mind, I haven’t opened one for 5-6 years…
