TN:2006 Inman Family Pinot Noir

I almost forgot…

Have You Tasted This Wine? ™

[stirthepothal.gif]

Wouldn’t it be more a matter of vocabulary than syntax?

Syntax as in the arrangement of words in a sentence in this case using “fruit bomb” in a sentence when describing wine.

I haven’t tasted the 06 RV but I have tasted the 06 (I believe) Olivet Grange which was nice!

Pinot Noir around $20 I would put up against the Inman (most if not all in my cellar):

Oregon
08 A to Z
07 Chehalem 3 Vineyard
08 Sinneann
08 Erath

California
07 Domaine Carneros
08 Sean Minor
07 La Crema
07 MacRostie

But I would only use these for my waffles, so who gives a shit!

Sounds great, Ty! Thanks!! [worship.gif]

I bought several of her '07 RRV. Good wine for the price.

Define several? And as long as I’m getting blasted by the berserker mafia, how can you buy/judge wine based on price? It either agrees with your palate or it doesn’t! Would you purchase a shitty table wine just because it’s $15?

Would you buy a bottle of La Crema or Macrostie for $200? How about for $2? That’s how you buy/judge wine based on price. Just because a wine “agrees with one’s palate” doesn’t mean one should spend any amount of money on it. When somebody remarks on the QPR of a wine, they are NOT judging the wine; rather, they are comparing the quality of the wine to how much money it costs to purchase that wine. The words “good wine for the price” or “bad wine for the price” are the equivalent of a comment on a wine’s QPR.

And what difference does it make what “several” means in this context? – I’m merely curious, as I don’t see how that really changes anything.

Funny, I don’t remember asking you anything regarding the definition of “several”…are you the newly appointed wine berserker town cryer sticking up for everyone who posts in here? And I don’t remember the OP mentioning QPR in his thread title or original post! If that was the OP’s impetus then so be it…the intention of my initial response is that in regards to your “QPR” stroke affair I prefer several other PN’s in that price range to the 06 Inman. That is all…just let it go! Why can’t anyone disagree with anything anyone has to say about a wine? Isn’t that the entire mission statement regarding being pationate about wine? I make a statement about prefering other Pinot’s for the price and all hell breaks loose!

Ry,
I’ll shred your logic like cheese. Bring it on, boy.

Come up to southern Oregon, I’ll take you to a 2,000 lot cellar with some of the oldest and rarest Pinot Noir you will ever drink! And we might even disagree on an $18 bottle table wine… LOL

-salute!

If I had the choice of castration with hot rusty spoon or having a drink with you, I’d choose rusty castration.

To your chagrin, I don’t look for ultra cheap “deals” when I’m shopping for Pinot Noir. To me, spending a little extra for a far superior wine is worth it…but I’m sure you bottom feeders are picking it up by the caseloads.

Ty,
Can I ask you a serious question without you going all postal on me?

These 3 quotes that you’ve made in this thread seem to contradict each other. On one hand you don’t mind spending more on a pinot but then you list several $20 pinots, is that “Spending a little extra ?” Then you are going to treat Brian to a 2,000 btl cellar with old & rare Pinot. Are these “oldest and rarest” in the $20 range.
I’m curious about your comments [scratch.gif]

So no one else can chime in?

The Op wrote last September…Brian, who you are lambasting, resurfaced the thread this past week and was the first to bring up the current price here in LA and, inferentially, the QPR it offered…at this time…not last September.

Because you make a condescending comment about someone’s reaction to a wine and then…THEN you admit you haven’t even had the wine! How’s that for a start?

If you meant your original comment in a jocular vein, there are plenty of little icon thingies for you to play with…right to the left of where you are about to enter your next (apparently) obnoxious comment.

See ya, Ty.

Actually, you probably won’t. Ty hides his presence while on WB, only appearing when he has something of “substance” to post. Ty is in “stealth” mode.

I bought a case for me, and a six-pack for my sister in-law. An excellent wine, and a great deal at $25.

No…I actually only bought 4. I suppose I’ll survive knowing Ty thinks I’m a bottom feeder.

BTW, has anyone seen Ty and Zucc in the same room?

OK, I BOUGHT SIX DUFRING A TASTING FOR A BUNCH OF SMALLER PRODUCERS AT AN OPEN HOUSE. I TASTED BEFORE I BOUGHT.

Jesus Christ, did you forget to take your meds?

+1

Ty,

Perhaps one of the reasons why folks in this thread take umbrage with your malignant tone is that, aside from never having tasted the wine in question, nor having any apparent understanding of the market value of the wine in question, some folks here have actually met and tasted with Kathleen, the winemaker, and know, in substantive terms, that their ‘opinions’ on this wine are much more grounded in real terms than your pot-shot one liners.

And as a retailer, I can tell you that buying a wine that you judge to be good is quite often based on price! I mean, seriously? Everybody would buy DRC if they could afford it. They can’t, so you spend your time trying to find the ‘next best thing’ that fits your budget. As others have said, this wine is a ‘buy’ at $25-30, if you don’t see the value in it at $15.99, that’s great to hear! More for the smart folks.
