2006 Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (11/19/2009)
Still holding up well 5 days in the fridge this actually seems heavier than the night it was opened. Sappy character showing a plenty of weight and sugar for a Spatlese though not too far gone. Snappy tart finish with some light apple like flavors. Brighter when less fridge cold. Excellent value.

Got this from Garagiste for $20. Germany is still offering superb value.
thanks for the note, cris. i have an '07 laying down. i’m surprised it showed “brighter” as it warmed from fridge temp. – i usually find the ‘bright’ tropical notes of rieslings are accentuated at relatively lower temps, so this behaved differently than i would expect.
what do you mean by “brighter?”
When I say brighter I mean the flavors or expressions seem to take off or come alive on the palate rather than just rolling across. It may be more about sensation or that they show lighter rather than heavier. I’m wondering if it was too cold when I started thus better later on.
