TN: 2006 Elizabeth Spencer Cabernet Sauvignon Proprietor Ble

  • 2006 Elizabeth Spencer Cabernet Sauvignon Proprietor Blended Special Cuvee Napa Valley - USA, California, Napa Valley (5/27/2010)
82% Cab, 15% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc. Dark berry, cherry, blueberry fruit…sweet and fresh crushed…soft spicy tannins, cassis, dusty graphite, raspberry ganache, vanilla oak barrel. Very easy drinking…in a complexed way. Love the cherry, pencil shaving dustiness! Also shows a little green herbal/tobacco on the finish. Tasty wine! My first ES wine…and will look for more. Any other fans of Elizabeth Spencer wines?

Enjoyed our tasting there last fall in the little old post office. There was a group outside in the 100 degree heat, i preferred the air conditioning…All the wines on the long list were well made, no show stoppers for me, but quite enjoyable.

I had the Chardonnay at a neighbors house and it was a fairly tasty drink. I think the Chardonnay is only about $30 so we thought it was a decent price.

Anyone try the 2007 Elizabeth Spencer Cabernet Sauvignon ?

My Local Wine Shop has it on special this weekend, and I’ve been looking to add some more cab to my cellar. I’ve never had an Elizabeth Spencer wine, but it sounds all right.

That was my impression.
