TN: 2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros

  • 2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru (12/8/2009)
Pale gold color. Clean and refreshing nose of lemon water, with a little cleaning solution?, sea air, pears/apples. Lite entry, kind of watered down flavors…then a gusher of beautiful Chablis character flows over the palate. Pears/melon/apple fruit that is creamy sweet…but toned up nicely with some tart green apple acidity, lemon sour, minerals and stones, some perky floral spice. A pretty clean Chablis…not much ocean funk…more of a sea air spritz. Can really tell the warmer Vintage…shows slight sweetness, like a sugar coasted lemon…but I think this wine balances it out well. Great wine, that should gain. (93 pts.)

Nice note, Buzz … love the Fevre wines. Delicious.

i have largely stayed away from 06, my mistake Buzz?

Well…if I had a choice, I would like to have the '04,05, or 07 before the '06. BUT…the couple of '06’s I’ve had, have been great drinkers, might not age as well as the others…and the real big thing are the DEALS. I picked these up for $35, $20 less than what the '05 is. I think this is a “deal Vintage”…if you can find them cheap…they are definitely worth picking up a few imo.
