TN: 2006 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume

First off, pretty much most of my experience with Fevre has been the 2004 Vintage, which has made me fall in love with the style. The first thing I notice in the 2006 Fourchaume is the creaminess. Way more cream and weight(botrytis?) than the '04’s I’ve had. Not a bad thing…just a thought. As the wine opens…clean and rich pear, baked apple, pineapple fruit…nice florals of lemon water, green apple skins, smoky flint, honey. I’m not getting any salty seashell funk? Do get a nice cut minerality of stones and lemons that does well with the creaminess. Also shows wonderful spice at times…and yeah, just a slight hint of sea air coming through. I like this wine! Not chiseled and cut like '04…more voluptuous, but still quality and tasty Fevre! (92 pts.)

06 was way warmer.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of the 2006 white Burgs, too fat and ripe. The 2004 of this is just off the scales delicious.
