TN: 2006 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils

  • 2006 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Vireuils - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (7/6/2018)
Fattened up since my last bottle 2.5yrs ago…rich and creamy, showing more aged honey and dried apple rings…yet still has a laser beam of citrus(lemon/lime/grapefruit) cutting through the fatness. Some subtle smoked vanilla, almond oil, limestone chalk…crunchy and spicy minerality on the finish. Not as much of the orange notes like the last bottle…maybe just a little zest. Still pretty citrus blossom florals, but honey and butter starting to take over. Baked apple ox seems to be imminent…so drink um if you got um! -pts (93 pts.)

Thanks for the note. Roulot wasn’t exactly on fire with the 2006s but they’re still fine wines. Unlike Puligny, I’m yet to see an '06 Meursault that can measure up to surrounding vintages.

On the other hand, the 07 in May was rockin!

Did the background photo change from a stack of screagle owc to just a lit cellar? I like the old background more.
