TN: 2006 Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape

  • 2006 Domaine Raymond Usseglio & Fils Châteauneuf-du-Pape - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (12/12/2009)
nose: real nice and classy nose of dark red fruits, black fruits, some bits of underbrush, garrigue, lavender, dark red cherries, and bits of dark berries. Good depth, with a real sumptuous nose that is just very CdP

taste: Creamy medium feel with good tannins and tones of black cherries, underbrush, garrigue, lavender, some black licorice, black fruits, and dark berry tones. Not as dark on the tones as the descriptors would fully indicate

overall: Young, but not inaccessible. This has really opened up with about 3 hours of air and has added layers. Very nice and delicious that should really thrive with another 2-3 years of cellaring, but is really good right now too (91 pts.)
