– 86% Zinfandel, 7% Syrah, 7% Mourvedre –
NOSE: Day 1: very alcoholic, with aromas of hoisin, french oak, very ripe red fruits (kind of a general “produce section of market” smell), and loganberry. Day 2: spicy, otherwise the same.
BODY: small amount of fine particulate matter; purple-garnet color of medium depth; medium bodied.
TASTE: Day 1: very ripe red fruits, very strong alcohol taste (16.0%); oaky; round, with slightly drying tannins on the finish (30-35 sec.); waaay too alcoholic; a typical, if not simple, Paso zin. Day 2: jammy, with blueberry notes coming out now; coffee note on finish; still alcoholic, but not as bad as Day 1.
