i went to a tasting featuring 3-4 of his 06s not too long ago and came away very impressed. i was in love with the minerality of his wines.

I bought one each of the Valmur and Les Clos, to see what they’re about. I haven’t gotten into the Les Clos, and based on this showing of the Valmur, I’m in no hurry.

Was the Les Clos included in your tasting? If it was, what was your impression, if you recall?

the clos was very tight. all of them were if i remember correctly, but a lot of great potential. the valmur was the most open that day and i did really enjoy it though if i owned it i would hide it for a few years. speaking of which, i should try to track some down!

thanks for your reply. I was going to tell you that K&L has them at $43, but a quick check of their website shows they are sold out … bummer. I think I might have seen a case or two at L.A. Wine Co. a week or two ago … might want to check their site — I seem to recall them pricing it in the mid $60’s however.

EDIT: I now see you’re in Maryland. Nevermind about L.A. Wine Co., unless you don’t mind shipping across country.

yeah i live in md, forget about any shipping!! im sure i can find it around me. i just picked up some 2007 dauvissat ‘la forest’ in the meantime!
