Popped and poured. Drinking very well right now, with immediate flavors of black fruits and leather on the aroma. There are still some decent tannins here and some forward acid that cleared up after a while. I don’t think this is going to develop into a better wine in the future, but it should drink well for another 3-5 years. (89 pts.)

Glad to see no mention of wood. I found the '08 a bit too woody, and pushed them back in the cellar. Was a well-priced, simple wine, so not expecting a ton out of it. The '06 sounds quite nice.

The château was acquired by Ch. Smith Haut Lafitte in 2012.

Don’t know if they’ll keep the label, or not - i.e. to what extent production will be absorbed by SHL.

I don’t recall a lot of wood in it Robert. It’s a decent wine for the price, one of those things you don’t mind opening as an afterthought.
