TN: 2006 Château La Confession (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru)

  • 2006 Château La Confession - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru (4/23/2014)
Dark red center with pink rim. Lovely, youthful nose of plums, cassis, cherry, cedar, gunflint, and minerals. An old world palate showcases cassis, cherry, black pepper, earth, pine needles, and minerals. The structural aspects of this medium-bodied wine are relatively balanced with the tannins being present but not overly masculine. The minerally finish is tannic but has good length and fruit. Overall, this tends toward the redder end of the fruit spectrum, with interesting pine and mineral notes, balanced by refreshing acidity and a tannic spine. 13.5% alcohol. (90 pts.)

Thanks for the note. I’d almost forgotten about this châteaux. They make some nice wines in good vintages.
