This is so fresh and lively.
The nose is closed in at this point.
What is there is cherry fruit. A little earth.
The palate is so focused and gorgeous.
Lively Bing cherry fruit that bounces around your mouth.
The finish shows a hint of spice and some provenceal herbs.
Long finish. A really great Charvin to me. (93 pts.)

Pale ruby. Delightful nose of summer strawberry & English raspberries, ripe fig, hints of herb but nothing secondary. The palate is soft, approachable & delicious right now. Drink or hold. 91pts
Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf du Pape 2004
Pale ruby to the eye. Another strawberry/raspberry scented nose with notes of hung beef, blood and spice notes – there is some secondary notes just trying to poke through. The palate is a delight being silky & elegant. I like this but then I like 04 CdP’s. Drink or hold. 90+pts

Pale ruby to the eye. A compote of mixed soft red fruits to the nose with plum, liquorice, dried herb & scorched earth. The palate is big here with a lot of substance, admirable fat & body. Very tannic compared to the 04 & 05. A very good wine for the vintage. Drink or hold. 92pts
Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf du Pape 2001
This is more like it. Again delicate on the nose but wow… there are come considerable complexities going on here showing red & black fruits, dried herb, roasted meat, graphite & a delightful floral notes. The palate is a delight too with beautifully integrated. Excellent & my favourite Charvin CdP. Drink or hold. 94points.
Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf du Pape 2000
Another delicate feminine nose, which I found “nice” but didn’t shriek out, drink me drink me, but shows some maturity with soft red & purple fruits, white pepper, graphite & earthy notes. The medium bodied palate is very likeable but uninspiring with good pure fruit, low tannins & acidity. Seamless & smooth. Drink or hold. 90pts
Domaine Charvin Chateauneuf du Pape 1999
Another clean Chateauneuf with raspberry/cherry fruit, bramble, truffle & smoke. The palate is at a good place right now with great fruit density & purity all nicely softened with everything in place and a good velvety texture. Drink or hold. 91pts
