Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, black boysenberries, a bit of white pepper and an hint of barnyard. Rich flavors of boysenberries, raspberries and black berries. Medium to bright acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink now with some air time or continue to hold over the short to medium term. (91 pts.)

had this on Sunday night. Could be my favorite of Mike’s DCV zins, which generally are not my favs from him (more emphasis on the cherry flavors than I prefer in zins). This one was more solid than some of his earlier DCV efforts, perhaps as a result of the dollop Pet in it. I probably would rate it a couple of points higher than you, but then I am a Carlisle 'ho.
