TN: 2006 Booker Vineyard Vertigo (USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles)

  • 2006 Booker Vineyard Vertigo - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (8/4/2009)
Deep dark almost inky color to it. Massive wine, giving off a ton of dark berries and fruit with a touch of game and a good amount of oak. Full bodied wine with the dark fruits covering the mouth, going all the way to the finish which had a bit of a peppery kick to it. Tannins were there in abundance, but very little acid to speak of to hold this all together. In my )amatuer) opinion I don’t think this is going to age well. It was a nice tasting wine that fell off at the end and ended up being a little too flabby.

Different vintage, but I figured I would add it to Yoni’s notes, as there were a lot of similarities.

2005 Booker Vineyard Vertigo - Inky black motor oil appearance. Nose is a little reticent, but whiffs of menthol, limestone and roasted chocolate and espresso. Very rich and unctous on the palate with lots of blackberry fruit and rich mocha. Still a little aggresive and tannic on the finish, but some good promise.

Thanks for both notes. I wil lpull one out soon and try it.

thanks for the note - i have a few of these i was waiting on. looks like i shouldn’t wait much longer.
