TN: 2006 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne and 2006 Bachelet Gevrey VV

Both of these wines are performing at a very high level.

The Bonneau du Martray is so pure. So elegant. So precise. Drinking perfectly on that young plane.

The 2006 Denis Bachelet Gevrey VV is below. Just amazing.

The nose is now starting to show that elegant darker fruit, soy note and light iron note. The palate is like a baby Charmes to me. Elegant. Penetrating. Very long in the mouth with a finishing panopoly of darker fruit and soy spice. Mini peacocks tail of complexity. This is right in the early wheelhouse! Fabulous. Profound for what this is. Thanks Ray. Wishing I had another 3 cases. Wanna sell some more?

not an 06 blanc to avoid then Don

Mais oui!!! Drink early however. I don’t want to take the risk.

Nice Don!

Glad the Bachelet showed so well for you.

Cheers.

Thanks Don. BdM made a fine Corton-Charlemagne in 06 with plenty of structure and tension for the vintage.
Best Regards
Jeremy

Don,

Thanks for the note on the bachelet. Have a few but was assuming they needed a long time yet.

Great notes Don. I’m also a fan of the Gevrey VV. One of the best IMO. See you in SF.

Ditto! I love this wine, but have no intention of aging this or any white burg anymore. Like Don, I don’t wan to take the risk.
