TN: 2006 Beaucastel Coudoulet CdR Blanc – unexpectedly good!

After being the evening taxi service for piano lessons, the local youth club and (hopefully) dumping the other kids off at the right houses in the depressing darkness tonight, I needed a drink.

This is a first for me. I don’t think I was ever tried a white Coudoulet before but as this was given to me I felt it rude not to open it. Poured into a Riedel Syrah stem. Now, I don’t know what goes into this stuff but there is probably a hotchpodge of grapes and I’m guessing it is heavy with Viognier. It is reasonably weighty, well-proportioned & attractive with its honeysuckle and orange citrus and clean, dry lengthy finish. Bloody good and at its peak. 13.5%vol
