TN: 2006 Audelssa Estate Winery Summit (USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley)

I’m getting an interesting bit of cinnamon on the nose of this wine - also, a nice balance of dark fruits, spice, and a touch of heat. On the palate, this is actually well integrated for a young wine, more dark fruits and berries, balanced oak, nice dusty tannins, and a very long finish. This is a well made wine. (91 pts.)

Fully agree, very nice juice.

Wish I got more…this one is a steal

I did. Bought a few from WL when they were going for WAYYYYY below retail too. Considering your note, I should give them to friends… [stirthepothal.gif] [berserker.gif]

Actually…nice note. Thanks!

They might not be ‘big and ripe’ enough for you…so gift them to me!

I got 4 of those from a special offer on this board. Your note is spot on. I scored all my bottles consitently 90-91. Very good wine, but I prefer them more fleshy and flamboyant. neener

I buy this on every year - it IS a steal considering the quality. I am a big fan of Audelssa.

See, I am not alone! [thumbs-up.gif]
Not that the reserved and laid back don’t have a place …

Hey guys. Thanks for the kind words…much appreciated.

Erich

Erich,
Welcome to the board!!

Thanks for the note. I have only tasted a few from Audelssa and only on the Tempest (which is great) but they some like someone I should own more of.

Winex still has the 03 Summit. Anyone tasted that?

Jason

Thanks Ed.

Jason - The 03 Summit should be drinking pretty well right now. Truthfully, I haven’t had one for 2+ years, but it had plenty of gas in the tank at the time. 92% Cab in that vintage, so it started off with a discernably bigger frame than the 06 which only has 50% Cab.

Hope that helps.
