TN: 2006 Alesia Falstaff Road Vineyard Pinot Noir

2006 Alesia Falstaff Road Vineyard Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast, CA)

Popped and poured last night.

14.1% abv.
Light red hue, fragrant nose of cranberries, raspberries and minerality coupled with a core of balanced, bright acidity and finishing with a slight peppery note. For lack of a better word, this is straight up “pretty” and an excellent food wine (enjoyed with stir-fry and curried roasted chicken breasts).

With a little more air, the assertive red fruits stepped back to let some darker fruit emerge. Looking forward to watching this one evolve over the next 3-5 years.

Thanks for the note Brett. The Falstaff Road is rapidly becoming my favorite Alesia bottling.

The 2004 was drinking great recently, too … so that bodes well for the age worthiness. Good stuff. I agree, Cris … an awesome bottling.
