TN: 2005 Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sav.

2005 Vineyard 29 Cab This has been our “valentine’s day” wine for the last two years and it is a blockbuster of a wine, but will reward those who have patience to wait another 5 years.

The nose was like sticking your nose into a strawberry patch. Aroma’s could fill the room that is how concentrated this wine is. It is a BIG wine that requires a considerable aeration if you plan to murder this young one. The mid palate is as I remembered it a year ago, very silky and smooth on the mouth. The tannin’s seemed more pronounced for some reason this year. I didn’t mind it at all, but Serge felt it was too tannic. The finish is VERY long and the wine paired well with rack of lamb with a borolo sauce. The wine did not seem to evolve since one year ago. Some sediment in the bottle, but this wine is best left sideways for another 5 years at least. While I am not a big fan of their Cru label, I do very much enjoy the V29. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED A++

Nice.
Thanks.
