Holy cow, I feel like this invaded my mouth and took me on a trip I probably shouldn’t have gone on until 20 years from now or so. Nose is already showing amazingly. Super primal and animal aromas made pretty with a spritz of violets and dark fruit, and an intriguing tar component as well. Like someone hit a deer with their car on a hot day on the highway and then tried to cover up a torn apart deer carcass lying on the asphalt by putting some flowers and some wild blackberries on top. In the mouth, showing classic Syrah flavors of dark fruit, olives, raw gamey meat, some floral underbrush characteristics, and a dusting of white pepper. But holy cow, this has the tannins and acidity to last a lifetime. If it wasn’t for the intensity of the flavor of the wine, my mouth would be crushed by the tannin. Fun to check in on on this now, but do yourself a favor, buy a case, and explore this over your lifetime. A classic example of Syrah. 94+. (94 pts.)
