2005 Tenuta Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino- Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (3/2/2011)
This wine is beautifully “lite” and pretty! More old world in style, bright fresh crushed red berry fruit, dried and floral, some tar, leather, cinnamon graham cracker, minerals and dusty spice. More delicate, love the dried roses and dusty spice…has complexity, but is very subtle, good orange acidity, tasty with Italian fare. For $26, a DEAL imo. This could be a killer goto every-day-er! $26!!! That’s really inexpensive for a Brunello of that caliber. It has never been one of my favorites, but it’s usually pretty nice…and more built than your note suggests, but I haven’t had the '05.
Don’t know if it matters to you, but you’ve got the “r” in “Caparzo” in the wrong place in the thread title, and it looks like, in CT.
