TN: 2005 Stephen Ross Aubaine

This is a favorite producer of mine and the 2nd Aubaine I have tried. Previously, the one I had was tight and closed (last year), this time it is drinking better and capable of further evolution. First thing is the color, dark Pinot, can’t see the bottom of the glass. The wine in nicely balanced and tart with loads of cranberry and pomegranate flavors with some spice also showing up at mid-palate. Nice acidity and finish. A very different style from his Bien Nacido and Stone Coral wines which are more floral and spice.
